If there’s one bloke who knows the Cape like the back of his hand, it’s our owner and trail boss, Roy Kunda.

At age 21, Roy Kunda packed up his trusty Yamaha Tenere and headed off to ride all the famous stock routes in Australia. He’d been reading about them and studying the history since he was a kid.

Roy’s position as our Operations Manager, involves leading all our off-road tours. His experience, accompanied with his vast knowledge of the region, mechanical expertise, amazing riding ability and gift with people, has led to our growing success. Every year Roy and the crew guide hundreds of riders around Cairns and all the way up the Cape.

The King of the Cape, Roy Kunda has been adventure-seeking for over 35 years and has been a professional motorcycle tour guide for over 30. The kilometres he’s achieved on a bike equate to 15 times around the world; 41 times around Australia; or 152 times along Route 66.

Roy has guided 4,000+ riders with various riding abilities, from beginner through to motocross experts and Grand Prix winners, and Cape York Motorcycles has been a Mecca in Far North Queensland for decades.
