Cairns Business Women’s Club

The Cairns Business Women’s Club Annual Awards are now in their 21st year and going from strength to strength. Each year the Cairns Business Women’s Club seeks to recognise the exceptional skills of Cairns Business Women and the contribution they make to the community as a whole — through the annual awards. Women seldom give themselves credit for their efforts, especially in business. So why don’t you show a woman in business or management that she deserves to celebrate her business achievements.

Winner of Small Business Woman of the Year

In her acceptance speech Renae said: “This submission took 6 weeks to write. At first I thought that I wouldn’t have enough to write about but with the help of friends, family and team mates, I found my self editing. To reflect on one’s career breeds motivation and helps you to appreciate the efforts that have brought you to this point. Learning to appreciate your own efforts and the efforts of others simply makes you better and more motivated to take on bigger challenges”.

Australian Institute Of Management

Management Excellence Award

The Management Excellence Awards have always held within them the seeds to grow, to meet changing environments, to identify exceptional individual potential and endeavour and to expand the participants and winners vision of personal and business excellence.

“The awards night was fabulous, Guy Sebastian was the opening act. I told my Mum who came with me that we should just leave now because nothing will top this. I am a big fan of Guy’s. Ross form Rockhampton won the category and I am really happy for him. It is a great honour. I am even prouder of Tania Cobham from Cairns who bought home the young manager category. So many people helped me to get to the state finals and I feel like I have let them down so I will definitely try again next year!”

Cairns Owner Manager of the Year 2007

She said: “It is not often that a self employed manager gets to be rewarded for the hard work they do behind the scenes. While the award took 17 years to earn, it just goes to show how well this team is working together now. A manager is only as good as the team”.
